Vittorio Vidotto is a professor of contemporary history at La Sapienza university in Rome. He has published numerous texts including the recent Roma contemporanea. With his department colleague Giovanni Sabbatucci he wrote the most frequently used history textbook in Italian schools, and the six volume text Storia d’Italia published by Laterza.
