Saso Ordanoski

Sašo Ordanoski’s professional carrier spans over 30 years, with considerable experience in journalism, PR, and public communications both in national and international arena. A prize-winning journalist, he is a regular contributor to a number of local and international printed/electronic media. He was managing director and editor-in-chief of the national public broadcaster Macedonian TV and managing director of the national commercial TV Alsat-M. He founded and ran for more than a decade the weekly Forum newsmagazine, and worked as Macedonian founder and country editor for the London based Institute for War and Peace Reporting. For a couple of years he worked with the World Bank in the area of external affairs. He used to be a consultant to a number of international organizations and institutions on media, communications, democracy, security and political issues, including UNDP, EU, and NATO.

Being a founder and/or board member of various domestic and international organizations dealing with regional issues on media, democracy, anticorruption and security, he plays a prominent role in South-East European’s civil society sector. He teaches journalism, media and theory and practice of communication at the University of South-East Europe based in Macedonia. He is frequently engaged as trainer/lecturer and consultant in the areas of political communication, public speaking, journalism, public relation, media development, and NGO development.

His education covers the areas of journalism (BA), sociology (MA) and communication/political science (PhD), all at the Cyril and Methodius State University in Skopje, as well as additional training and education at home and abroad.

Since January 2015 he has been program manager at Center for Strategic Research and Documentation Forum, after working from 2011 to2014 as Director for Media and Public Affairs at regional investment and consultancy company VEVE Group based in Tirana and Skopje.

In the period of August-October 2015, Ordanoski was a Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (Institute für die Wissenschaftenvom Menschen, IWM) in Vienna, Austria, as a winner of the Institute’s Milena Jesenská Fellowship for 2015/2016.
