Join Robb Montgomery for a sunrise film walk through Perugia and discover firsthand how to use your smartphone to find, capture, and edit shots that tell stories.
We will meet (regardless of weather) at the Hotel Brufani for a short briefing on how to use your phone like a documentary filmmaker, and then set off on an expedition in search of compelling scenes, characters and moments that can be found only at dawn. Robb will be with you, coaching and making field demonstrations as they unfold. Bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a fully-charged smartphone. After the shoot, we will meet at a cafe for coffee and share tips for editing your shots into a montage story.
Robb's workshop is a tradition and the starting time of 06.00 is not arbitrary. During the festival dates, 06.00 in Perugia is about 40 minutes before sunrise. It will be pre-dawn light at this time and Robb will get you briefed up and ready to report a visual story in these conditions. Please note that this session will take place even if the weather is foul; Often the pictures are more interesting.
The session will be limited to 20 people. You must pre-register with this online form. Festival staff will contact you the day before your film walk to confirm your participation.
