Andrés Olarte Peña, an engineer and whistleblower, worked at Ecopetrol, Colombia’s largest oil and gas company, first as an analyst and later as an environmental adviser to the Vice President of Sustainability. After blowing the whistle on Ecopetrol, he had to leave Colombia for security reasons. He now lives and works in Germany.
