Marie Volkea Doezema is Senior Special Projects Manager at the Columbia Global Center in Paris.

She joined the Center in the fall of 2022 to support and develop special projects, including collaborations with Dart Centre Europe, Forbidden Stories, Éditions du Portrait, l’Académie des Futurs Leaders, Génération Leaders, among others. She interfaces with the Faculty Visitorship and Displaced Artists programs, and leads the podcast Atelier.

Previously, Marie worked as a journalist and editor in Japan, Qatar, and across the U.S. and Europe. She earned an M.A. (2012) from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism, and from 2014 to 2022 served as Head of the Languages Department at the School of Journalism and Communications at University Paris IV. Specialized in topics of human rights, gender, and science, she has taught journalism at Sciences Po, the Sorbonne, and has led journalism workshops across Sub-Saharan Africa.
