Marisa Kabas is a Brooklyn-based independent journalist, writer, and the founder of The Handbasket, a subscriber-supported news site and newsletter launched in June 2022. Originally created as a side project for personal essays, it has evolved into a full-time, independent news platform focused on investigative reporting and political analysis.
