International collaborations have become a staple of investigative journalism. From the ICIJ’s era-defining offshore leaks - the Panama, Paradise and Pandora Papers - to the Pegasus Project, coordinated by Forbidden Stories, and countless other partnerships, big and small, between media organisations around the world. When the Guardian was leaked the Uber files, a cache of more than 120,000 documents, it chose to share them with over 100 journalists around the world. What does it take to bring together a consortium of investigative journalists? What are the risks - and what can sometimes go wrong?
