Karam Nachar
Karam S. Nachar is a Syrian writer, journalist and academic. He is the co-founder and co-editor of Al-Jumhuriya, an independent media platform that provides in-depth coverage and analysis of politics, society and conflict in Syria and the Arab world.
Nachar holds a PhD in Modern History from Princeton University, an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from Oxford University, and a BA in Political Science from the American University of Beirut. He has also worked as a lecturer in Modern Middle Eastern history, including at Işık University in Istanbul, and his writing engages with historical, political and social dimensions of the Syrian context. Through Al-Jumhuriya, Nachar contributes to journalistic and intellectual efforts to document and analyse ongoing developments in Syria, including issues related to justice, governance and post-conflict accountability.
