CEO Associated Press Fund for Journalism

Rachel White is CEO of the AP Fund for Journalism (APFJ). Created in 2024 by The Associated Press, APFJ's mission is to support public service journalism and make it accessible to an ever-widening group of state and local news organizations in the U.S. to ensure that more people nationwide have access to accurate and trustworthy news. In April 2025, APFJ launched a pilot program with 50 U.S. newsrooms now receiving AP content and services. The program will expand to 300+ newsrooms by 2028.

Prior to joining APFJ, she served as President of theguardian.org and EVP of philanthropic and strategic partnerships at the Guardian. Earlier in her career, she served as executive vice president and interim president of the Washington D.C.-based think tank New America Foundation and at World Wildlife Fund.
